Post & Go machines issue a new generation of self-adhesive postage stamps that are rapidly capturing the interest of stamp collectors. The stamps were first introduced by the Royal Mail back in 2008.
Gibraltar is proud to issue a new set of Post & Go stamps or the Chinese New Year - Year of the Rat
The 2020 Chinese New Year “Year of the Rat” begins on the 5th February 2019. The rat occupies the first position among the Chinese zodiac animals.
According to one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. The Rat tricked the Ox into giving him a ride. Then, just as they arrived at the finish line, Rat jumped down and landed ahead of Ox, becoming first.
Chinese New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays and the Year of the Rat stamps are the Eighth edition of the successful philatelic series issued by Gibraltar. All Gibraltar zodiac stamps since the first issue released in 2013 have been designed by the same artist in order to keep the same look and feel of the stamps
